The truth is… there’s a lot of different mailboxes that can be built into a column. Some are made specifically for columns, others are usually post mounted, but can be built into a column. Squared off mailboxes are usually the best shape for columns.

Here’s a tip to remember: Don’t fasten your mailbox into the column so permanently that it can never be removed. We have gotten many calls over the years from people who concreted their mailbox into a column not thinking that a mailbox will not last for eternity. Eventually, if you need to replace the mailbox (for any number of reasons), you want to be able to easily remove it. Just our 2-cents on the subject. 🙂
