The Classic Pedestal Mailbox is 100% powder coated aluminum and was made for years of maintenance free use. This mailbox is available in four colors with the choice of three accent finishes. The Classic Pedestal Mailbox ships from the California factory warehouse and usually arrives to you in one week or less.
This was one of the mailboxes that revolutionized the Mailbox Business. Going back to the early 1990’s, there was nearly no high-quality mailboxes on the market. Most suppliers were selling very basic items. The Classic Pedestal Mailbox developed by Ted Gaines at Gaines Manufacturing changed everything. It was the first high-end item we ever offered. It wasn’t cheap, not even back then, but people loved them. Suddenly customers were looking at their mailbox differently… and it all started with The Classic Pedestal Mailbox.
Dimensions: 15″ wide x 10″ deep x 50″ tall
We don’t sell these as locking units (even though it has a cam lock on the bottom door… the top door opening is large enough for a hand to reach all the way inside). Most people just leave the lock in the “open” position and use that bottom door as the more convenient access for mail delivery and retrieval.
The Classic Pedestal Mailbox weighs a substantial 41 pounds (including over 10 lbs of solid brass) and is crafted from 16 different castings. This stately mailbox features six different hand-fitted and hand-polished solid brass accent pieces, including a brass flag. Available in four different colors (almond, black, bronze and white) with three door/flag accent finished (polished brass, antique bronze, and satin nickel).
These are bolt down units. They can’t stand on their own and must be secured down to “something”, usually a concrete pad. Bolt-down hardware not included. Whoever installs will need to purchase locally the hardware they need. We have installed many of these ourselves and can offer phone installation assistance, if needed.
