These mailboxes don’t have as much mail storage capacity as a large mailbox with a full front door like the Keystone Mailboxes, for example, that are also manufactured by the same factory.
Also… we don’t sell these as “secure” or “locking” units (even though it has a cam lock on the bottom door). The top door opening is large enough for a hand to reach all the way inside. Most people just leave the bottom door lock in the “open” position. That allows for more convenient mail delivery and easier access for mail retrieval. There is a magnet that keeps the bottom door in the closed position.
This unit includes one pedestal and two mailboxes. These are bolt down units. They can’t stand on their own and must be secured down to “something”, usually a concrete pad. Bolt-down hardware is not included. There are many different ways to bolt something down to concrete and we don’t recommend one method over another. Whoever installs will need to purchase locally the hardware they need for whatever bolt-down technique they prefer.
